A LIKELY CANDIDATE

He didn't seem
  a likely candidate
  for a kingship
    though born of
    royal David's line 
a son of poverty
  in a carpenter's shop
  in good-for-nothing Nazareth.
He was lifted high
  humbled and shamed
  there in the opne
  for all
  to see
on a tree like those
  on which
  He'd done
  His other work.
There He finished
  what no one else
    could accomplish:
Man's redemption.

Don't be deceived
  by His going away.
He is going back
  in power
    and great glory
To rule His kingdom
In truth and righteousness.
